Buzz Session: One More Time – With Meaning!
June 6, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm CDT
$35 – $55Is a fulfilling career actually possible or is it just a social media fantasy?
Can “meaning” or “impact” really drive our work, or should we simply be grateful to have a job?
If you’ve had that empty feeling after launching a successful project or winning a new client, or even receiving a compliment, you know the nagging feeling that won’t go away: “I want my work to matter to me”.
But – if we decide we want more meaning in our work, how do we create it without burning down everything we’ve built so far? What do we need to change about ourselves to make it real?
n this Buzz Session, we’ll hear from three women who are finding their meaningful work in very different ways:
Development Manager, Gilda’s Club Twin Cities
After 21 years in a leadership role at Piper Jaffray, Carissa was diagnosed with cancer. After successful treatment, she began to realize that she wanted something different from her work – and that meant new career and life choices for her and her family.
Founder and CEO, Steller Hair Co, Steller Connect and Steller Kindness Project
Hair salon owner, entrepreneur, Katie has built an inclusive, caring business that empowers people to be themselves – and her “Kindness Project” works to share positivity and hope in dark times.
Sr Global Org Transformation & Change Manager at Medtronic.
Megan will share why she’s passionate about helping people succeed in a global corporation (yes, fulfillment in corporate is real;;)
Leadership coach Allison Ballou will guide our conversation and also take us through an exercise where we’ll work on our own path to meaningful work.
Stay after the session to meet other women who are figuring our their journeys – we’ll have wine and light snacks for you.
You’ll leave with an action plan for what you need to do next to find more meaning in your work.
